Design Council and BBC reveal Exclusively Ladies secrets
"Exclusively Ladies" the unique Henley on Thames health club shared centre stage last week with leading designers such as Habitat's Creative Director Tom Dixon and Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemingway, in this years "DESIGN IN BUSINESS WEEK 2002" at the IMAX Centre Birmingham.

Events were staged in partnership with BBC's Working Lunch and the "Exclusively Ladies" business story was told to an invited audience of around 400 business and design professionals on how design has helped them to add value and stand out from the competition.

Being highlighted at the climax of a week where the most innovative UK companies were recognised, Amanda Handcock of Exclusively Ladies said "to even be thought of in such illustrious company is a real honour, all the staff are delighted".

Alison Brown of the Design Council said "I wasn't sure how you could make a health club different, but when we came to film at Exclusively Ladies we were knocked out. I am really impressed by the soothing design and calm atmosphere. You immediately feel relaxed without knowing why....A lot of thought has gone into the building, which I am sure could be replicated". Alison went on to say, "the customers I spoke to were all delighted with their improved fitness levels and loss of inches"

Amanda and her team are just as pleased with the success of their customers. "The Exten equipment we use is fabulous" said Amanda, "but the really clever thing is putting exercise in a non threatening and thoughtful environment. Without doubt our staff are our main asset"
