Calico Analysis
The CALiCO philosophy is NOT to make food the enemy. We need to eat as our energy source, not just to survive... But to thrive!
Taking care of your CALorie intake does not mean starving. Many of us are fixated by the "diet" word. It means a lack of food and an increase in misery. These negative thoughts are destructive and don't make allowances for the simple fact that our bodies need to consume energy every day to work efficiently. It's not about starving.
Going all day without enough energy is not only dangerous, but it is self defeating. The human body has developed over many, many thousands of years to survive in much harsher conditions than we live in now!. If you don't eat the body will think your starving (your internal biology can't see the food outlet on every corner) and will shut down bit's it doesn't need...So you feel lethargic and miserable. Worse still it will save every morsel of food it can as a fat store (because your body doesn't know when it's next meal is coming, even if your brain does). It also has a clever method or letting you know your in starvation mode. Hunger pain is an effective way of telling you that your energy intake is low...A bit like the fuel warning light on your car, only it hurts!. The start point of the CALiCO system is to define what our bodies need to function, then go from there.
The CALiCO analysis form to be completed at your first induction will help us identify your nutrition and exercise requirements. You will get five one to one sessions with staff members as part of your membership at Exclusively Ladies, during the third of fourth session (depending on your progress) you will receive the 28 day CALiCO meal planner, written by Penny Hunking which will show you how to get a well balanced nutrition programme that will match your needs.
